Tension-Type Headache
Typically bilateral headaches of mild-to-moderate severity not affected by physical movement/activity. They are often “featureless” without any signs of light/sound sensitivity or nausea.
Tension headaches are typically “feature-less” headaches – this means the symptoms of light sensitivity, sound sensitivity, nausea, and/or vomiting that are seen with migraine headaches are not typically present in tension headaches. If you have light and sound sensitivity or any nausea with your headaches (even if they only occur with some of your headaches), chances are low you are experiencing tension headache. Likewise, tension headache is usually mild to moderate in severity (contrasted to migraine typically reaching moderate to severe levels of severity) and not usually made worse with physical activity (contrasted to migraine headaches typically causing people to need to rest when severe to avoid worsening the pain).
